Anthony McCann is the one man brain trust who conceived "Funky Fork Silver", a business of making jewelry & accessories from antique silverware.
An innovative silversmith/jeweler who's rare niche involves the recycling of heirloom silver flatware into wearable art / sculpture. Funky Fork Silver provides the general public a dying breed of artisan who is able to demonstrate their craft at the location of commerce. The location which have included, antiques show, Bar mitzvahs, music festivals, fine art shows, night clubs, and many other non conventional venues.
Funky Fork Silver was birthed from a fateful day of witnessing the talents of Master Silversmith & Design duo of Vino & Shirley Smith, who possess the name Art & Soul Jewelry. A visual lesson covering an afternoon in a summer of the mid nineties catapulted a U.S. Air Force veteran, radar analyst, into a foreign world of art creation, to which he is still suspended.
Within seven months of that one day apprenticeship, he had secured a position as a featured demonstrating artist at the states premire jazz nightclub.
The club being Beelow's Cafe & Underground Bar, in the Valley of The Sun, in the great state of Arizona. The unconventional setting & uniqueness of product made Funky Fork Silver the easy winner of the "Best Place To Get Jewelry Made In A Hurry" award from the New Times Magazine of Phoneix. The next stop on the journey of the "Forkologist" was Minneapolis MN. It was there that his skills were further honed at Calhoun Square & Annex Farmers Market. A road trip of two years, thirty states and fifty thousand miles provide a real world education, allowing for professional growth servicing the needs of custom jewerlry conosiors from Dallas, Chicago , Cape Cod to Key West and all points in between.
That experience has prepared him to meet the challenge as a thriving artist in the Big Apple, and being recognized as world class trailblazer in the silverware art cosmos.
